I don't know much about Metroid or Nintendo but this is a very cool short film:

Whadda week!!!
No posts immediately...I've been offline a bit, as well as busy beyond reasoning. Aside from the complexities of work, I've also moved residences this weekend and otherwise been too preoccupied to do much more than keep pushing to get things done with loads too large for the deadlines that must be met. Now....PC is back online, the calm is setting in a bit....still stuff to do though. More soon!
For now here's some awesome videos you should check out.
First: where art, transhumanism, shoggoths and body horror converge:
DIFFUSION from Kouhei Nakama on Vimeo.
Second: Singularity....a short film good enough to compete with a lot of full productions out there. Netflix should hire the makers of this film to do more like it.
SINGULARITY [short film] 2015 from The Bicycle Monarchy on Vimeo.
Next: this is a slightly NSFW stop-motion tale of undead pirates, and a man's love for a nude witch with an octopus hat....this should not be missed. I like to think this is all happening in some demiplane near the Shadowfell:
Goutte d'Or (full film) from Happy Flyfish on Vimeo.

Wanderers - with the words of Carl Sagan
Wanderers is a short film about what our future in the solar system could look like. The narration is straight from Carl Sagan. The graphics derive from constructs and locations (both real and theorized) in our solar system, and it's really quite inspiring. Check it out:

(Yes I'm taking it easy on the blogging this week, so lots of short posts. If inspiration hits me, wonderful....but sometimes it's nice to just relax and not worry about it....)

The Great Martian War and Fortress
Another amazing find on Vimeo. I'd totally play in this setting:
Great martian war from PLAZMA on Vimeo.
Also worth showing off, Fortress, a one-man production that makes me wish this was a trailer to a very eerie post-apocalyptic movie or game:
Крепость/Fortress from Dima Fedotof on Vimeo.
Keep in mind that one guy did Fortress just for the hell of it (okay, his love of CGI).

Renegade
Renegade, which is a slightly NSFW video below, would honestly make a fantastic Dungeon Crawl Classics adventure, too. Look upon this three minute micro-movie and witness the life of a true fighting-man from Level zero to Hero.....

Keloid is the best concept movie trailer I've ever seen....really hope this becomes a real film:

Telescope
What's it about? Not sure....the mystery is in enjoying the sort of very short tale a film short can weave, with a procession of visuals stiched together by a hint of narrative. Anyway...enjoy, it's pretty neat:

Play Dead
A new amazing short film on Vimeo. I don't know if Play Dead is a sign that the zombie genre has been completely tapped out for ideas, or if it's a sign that we've barely scratched the surface....but it is definitely worth watching. It's about 15 minutes long.
Important warning! This is still a zombie survival horror flick, no matter how canine the stars are. Expect the usual body count when it comes to zombie flicks, amongst both men and dogs. But trust me, if you're into zombie films, this is a must see.

La Bestia Scarlatta Con Sette Teste
I love Vimeo, the strangest stuff shows up there. Real quick, the following music video from Get Well Soon is probably NSFW as there's some brief nudity and it's basically ...I think, anyway....a music video designed to look like a either a trailer for or highly abridged mashup of a Hammer Horror / Italian Western / Werid 70's Sci Fi action flick called "La Bestia Scarlatta Con Sette Teste," complete with cheesy special effects, weird bit characters, outlandish constumes and obligatory brief nudity. Check it out, if you dare...

The Future Forms of Life
Vimeo is where good things go to dwell and lurk in the subconscious. It is like nature's way of apologizing for Youtube.
When watching this below, I got the vague impression this might have been a tiny look into what some of the creatures of the Dreamlands might look like, had Lovecraft been a writer in this century instead of the last.

Rest
This is misattributed as a zombie tale, when it's really a sort of ghost story/revenant's journey but well worth watching....once again, Vimeo proves to be the place for interesting and exotic films:

The Shrine / An Argument by Sean Pecknold
I'll be honest, I my powers of interpretation are failing me on this one, but it is a fine example of why Vimeo is so awesome. Anyway, the best I can analogize this video to is the sort of disturbing psychotropic experience you might get after smoking a bit of the salv divinorum. Also, the music is great:
