Kickstarter Report: The Lost Lands: Borderland Provinces, Tome of Beasts roars along, and Delta Green is confusing?

It looks like Frog God's latest will be a menagerie of books that all tie into the Lost Lands setting. The Kickstarter is out, and it's offering your preferred edition (Pathfinder, D&D 5E or S&W). I'm in at the $95 level, which I think gets me one of each of the books in print.



If you want to see how to make a Kickstarter confusing, check out the Delta Green RPG! Is it just me or is that a serious mess to wade through? I'd like to back it at a level that says "Pay this and we will give you one of each book you need," but it's kind of hard to figure out which tier that is....when you need a matrix to try and assess backer levels and rewards I kind of think maybe you're doing it wrong....

Meanwile, Kobold Press's Tome of Beasts roars along at over X4 its target as of this writing....



Latest Deluxe Tunnels & Trolls update is in as well, and Rick is indicating that all hard covers, including the special editions, are now done and they have 500 to ship out. I may at last see my copy....possibly before I see Primeval Thule, which is itself steamrolling along, and according to the latest update it's about to go to press in time for a post-Thanksgiving release (barring completion of the add-ons). Only downer is the add-ons will ship with the core to those who ordered it all (i.e. me) which suggested that I might not see my book in December if the add-ons aren't complete and printed by then...we shall see.

It only took 8 hours to hit their $20,000 goal. I'm in for $95 to get all the books in print.

In related news, I have been notified that the Quests of Doom 2 from Frog God has shipped. Yayyyyy!!!! If you were on the fence about this one and waiting to see if it got the funding, then fear not; the book is in print.

Greyhawk & Wizardry plus more Frog God Coupon Madness

I figured out what works well for my hypothetical Greyhawk campaign that I am most definitely not spending too much time on, such that I am neglecting my blog and other hobby duties:

To be fair though S&W Complete would fit well with my Ages of Lingusia setting, too....or Pergerron, which is spawned out of the Basic/Expert core conceits. Or I could return to my decommissioned S&W setting, the Rising Dark Campaign which I had wrapped up and published right around the time I started this blog. But the idea of a pure Greyhawk game continues to nag at my mind...

While I have owned the original Complete edition of S&W for some time now (and played in a campaign my wife ran with it a few years back, shortly before we acquired the munchkin) I haven't gotten the latest version yet, nor have I picked up Monstrosities (or the GM Screen). Thanks to yet another coupon deal from Frog God I've rectified that. Speaking of which: 25% off until Midnight May 15th with WOOT-25%-OFF!

Pre-order Book of Lost Spells for 5E

Book of Lost Spells, the D&D 5E conversion from Frog God Games, is now up for pre-order. The site also indicates an April 2015 ship date.

That's going to be a lot of D&D 5E in April: Princes of the Apocalypse on April 7th from WotC, followed by Frog God's unofficial but Extremely Cool Fifth Edition Foes, Book of Lost Spells, and Quests of Doom I and II.

That oughtta take the pressure off WotC to produce new books for a couple months, right?

Fifth Edition Foes gets a general pre-order release date

If you're like me and have decided you like your books complete and available for general release --or at least protected by more conventional consumer laws-- then there's some good news: Frog God/Necromancer Games' Fifth Edition Foes is apparently getting released April this year, and they have opened it up for pre-order.

Ordinarily I'd try to get this through the usual retail local outlet or online, but I've noticed Frog God seems to keep themselves exclusive, so it may not be possible to find a copy until some of their books trickle down to the secondary resell market on ebay.

Anyway, pre-order page is here. If it ends up being as good as the Frog God Tome of Horrors Complete then it should be well worth it. Given WotC seems to be aiming for a very lite official release schedule of actual RPG books, this could be a much needed follow-up tome to the Monster Manual.

The Wizard's Amulet free for D&D 5E

Tenkar scooped it first, but Frog God Games has released a 5th edition compatible version of The Wizard's Amulet for free, under the OGL. Grab it here!

This was originally a free module released for 3rd edition D&D back when Necromancer Games surfaced in the dawn of the D20 era. Hopefully this is a sign of things to come....I would very much be keen on seeing conversion/support for Frog God Games books in 5th edition.....
